VISITOR POLICY UPDATED (As of 2/10/2022):

Here is our latest visitor policy (effective 2/10/22) as it pertains to various departments:

Attention: ANYONE entering the hospital or any of our other clinics and locations must wear a mask over both the nose and mouth at all times while inside the building, including inside patient rooms. All visitors MUST be age 18 years and older.

Emergency Room:

  • ONE SUPPORT PERSON/VISITOR AGE 18 AND OLDER (no swapping out). 
  • Minors are allowed both parents/guardians in their room. Parents/guardians must remain in the patient’s room.
  • For end of life/critical prior to transfer situations, visitors are a case-by-case basis.
  • All other persons must wait outside the building and the patient or support person/parent can contact them by phone.
  • No visitors or support persons will be allowed in rooms of COVID positive or suspected positive patients.
  • All meals for visitors/ support persons must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time.

 

Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics Unit and ICU:

  • ONE SUPPORT PERSON/VISITOR AGE 18 AND OLDER ALLOWED AT THIS TIME (no swapping out) FROM HOURS 2PM – 6PM. This person must stay in the patient’s room.
  • Minors are allowed both parents/guardians in their room. Parents/guardians must remain in the patient’s room.
  • No visitors or support persons will be allowed in rooms of COVID positive or suspected positive patients.
  • All meals for visitors/ support persons must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time.

 

End of Life Situations:

  • VISITORS ALLOWED WILL BE DETERMINED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS . Any visitors allowed must stay in the patient’s room. Visiting arrangements will be set at the goals of care conference.
  • We offer tele-health visits for COVID-positive or suspected positive patients.
  • Personal clergy may be allowed; this will be arranged through Pastoral Care.
  • All visitors must wear a mask over both the nose and mouth at all times while you are in the hospital, including inside the patient’s room.
  • All meals for visitors must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time.

 

Obstetrics Unit:

  • Due to the vulnerability of both the mother and infant, visitation will remain limited to ONE support person (no swapping). 
  • The support person will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside the hospital and must get their temperature checked.
  • Support person must remain in the room with the patient, and cannot be “swapped out” for someone else.
  • OB sonogram patients may have a support person accompany them in for the sonogram. If the patient is required to wait at any time in the waiting room, the support person must wait outside the building until the patient is ready to go back. This is so we can control the waiting room and reduce the risk to our patients.
  • All visitors must wear a mask over both the nose and mouth at all times while you are in the hospital, including inside the patient’s room.
  • All meals for visitors/ support persons must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time.

 

Special Procedures:

  • PRE-AND POST-PROCEDURE ONLY. 
  • Minors are allowed both parents/guardians in their room. This person must remain in the patient’s room.
  • All meals for visitors must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time.

 

Same Day Surgery (SDS):

  • PRE-AND POST-PROCEDURE ONLY.
  • Both parents/guardians of pediatric patients may remain in the stall, or if the stall is needed, they will be sent to the waiting room (so they can be called back to recovery room, if needed).
  • Same Day total joint replacements will have a support person return to SDS once the patient returns to his or her stall to be included in post op education efforts.
  • All visitors must wear a mask over both the nose and mouth at all times while you are in the hospital, including inside the patient’s room.
  • All meals for visitors must be off campus as the cafeteria is open to employees only at this time. 

 

Clinics: 

  • ONE SUPPORT PERSON AGE 18 AND OLDER, AS NEEDED. SUPPORT PERSON ONLY ALLOWED IF MEDICALLY OR LEGALLY NECESSARY.
  • Children should NOT be brought to an appointment unless the child is the patient.

 

Testing: 

  • ONE SUPPORT PERSON AGE 18 AND OLDER, AS NEEDED. SUPPORT PERSON ONLY ALLOWED IF MEDICALLY OR LEGALLY NECESSARY.

 

Minor Patient: 

  • Both parents or guardians allowed.
