Angela Benavides, MD, Board Certified Physician in Neurology. Dr. Benavides will be practicing at the St. Margaret's Neurology Center at 1400 Midtown Road in Peru, next to our Center for Physical Rehab.

A native of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, Dr. Benavides received a Bachelor of Science with a Biology major from University of Illinois-Chicago in 1978. She received her medical degree in 1983 from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, completing her internship in Internal Medicine there the following year. She then did a residency in neurology from 1984-1987 at Froedtert Hospital, which is affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she was also the Chief Resident from 1986-1987.

Dr. Benavides is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds a certificate as a Headache Specialist from the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. Additionally, she has Acupuncture Certification from the Academy of Pain Research University in California. The scope of her practice is to evaluate and treat Neurological conditions in adult patients, including interpretations of EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies. She also treats adult patients suffering from chronic migraine headaches, utilizing Botox treatments. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
