Plans, delegates and coordinates assigned duties to Environmental Services staff. Monitors to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions within the hospital. Assists with coordinating employee orientation and on-going training. Maintains personnel files including summaries, evaluations, competencies, and attendance records. Participates in hiring disciplinary action and termination of staff. Assists with scheduling to include maintaining adequate coverage of the department. Carries out a scheduled Floor Maintenance Program. Performs floor cleaning projects (ie. waxing and extracting) and other cleaning duties as assigned. Maintains an adequate amount of supplies, equipment and linens. Performs maintenance and repairs to all departmental equipment. Assist with payroll, monthly staff meetings, and prepares monthly reports. Schedules, assigns, and follows up on all meeting set-ups, project cleaning and moving furniture. Coordinates activities with other department and interfaces regularly with hospital staff, public, patients and physicians. Individual will be expected to perform and work all schedules if needed.
High School graduate or equivalent required. A Minimum of two years supervisor experience with some background in housekeeping is preferred. Also needed is knowledge of housekeeping equipment and ability/desire to rectify technical problems. Proven leadership ability and positive past performance record. IEHA Certification Optional.
