The Special Procedures RN has the responsibility for the following: Completes all required patient assessments timely and accurately; completes discharge instructions or transfer information completely and accurately; completes all documentation accurately and timely; directs and assists non-licensed personnel; provides appropriate comfort measures and pain management; demonstrates knowledge of all wellness and disease management issues; administers medications accurately and timely; demonstrates competency in patient care procedures and use of pertinent equipment and supplies; executes accurate order entry, transcription of orders and signs off orders; provides patient education; initiates and up dates patient plan of care; and promotes and assures patient safety. Competent in Circulating and Scrub Tech positions in Endoscopy Suite. Competent in disinfecting endoscopes and endoscope cleaning machines.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Registered Nurse with (1) year hospital experience or previous Special Procedures experience. Current State of Illinois registered nurse license, current CPR certification, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
