Scope of Responsibility:

The Registered Nurse has the responsibility for the following:  Completes all required patient assessments timely and accurately; completes discharge instructions or transfer information completely and accurately; completes all documentation accurately and timely; directs and assists non-licensed personnel; provides appropriate comfort measures and pain management; demonstrates knowledge of all wellness and disease management issues; administers medications accurately and timely; demonstrates competency in patient care procedures and use of pertinent equipment and supplies; executes accurate order entry, transcription of orders and signs off orders; provides patient education; initiates and up dates patient plan of care; and promotes and assures patient safety. The RN is expected to assist with respectfully precepting and mentoring all staff as needed.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  Current State of Illinois registered nurse license, current CPR certification and any other certification appropriate to specialty required.
