Scope of Responsibility:
To provide optimum office support to Rehab staff. Duties include, but are not limited to answering phones, scheduling and bookkeeping. Checking in patients, insurance and Medicare recertification and preauthorization. Worker’s Compensation precertification and pre-approval. Entering daily charges and discharges. Track daily charges for billing purposes. Registration of new patients. Calling and scheduling physician referrals on a daily basis. Setting up Para-transit schedule. Monthly list of therapists Medicare patients. Faxing daily progress and doctor notes for physician signatures to be returned. Filing and charting. Submission of Medicaid information to IPA. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced office environment.
High school graduate or equivalent. Previous health care office experience preferred, good keyboarding skills, knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and computer experience preferred.
