The Clinical Coordinator Critical Care Services is responsible for assisting the Director of Critical Care Services with daily staff supervision. In this role, the Clinical Coordinator will provide input to performance development for unit employees, assist with scheduling, timecards, and follow up on Clarity events.  Coordinator will assist in evaluations, patient care and daily staffing decisions. Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with Director of Critical Care to ensure unit is up to date with current best practice and that staff educational needs are met and deficits in learning are addressed in prompt manner. Coordinator will work with Director to onboard and orient new employees including follow up meetings during the orientation period to assess progress and address deficits. This position is integral to the development of staff, safe patient care and positive patient care outcomes. Coordinator will participate in quality projects, data collection and performance improvement projects at the request of the Director. Coordinator will audit charts to ensure compliance with CMS regulations and SMH policies. Coordinators will confer with appropriate management staff in assessing, planning and implementing programs for staff development. This position is a non-exempt position and reports to the Director of Critical Care.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, 5 years of critical care experience preferred. ADN required, BSN preferred.

License/Certification Requirements:

Current State of Illinois registered nurse license or eligible for licensure.  Current CPR, ACLS and PALS, ECRN required. CEN preferred.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff nurse in area of specialty.  Clinical management experience preferred.
