We Have Two Foundations for Fundraising at Each Hospital
St. Margaret's Foundation
St. Margaret's Health - Spring Valley
For more than 100 years, we have been serving the community with quality healthcare delivered with a spiritual confidence inspired by the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. The purpose of St. Margaret’s Hospital Foundation is to develop charitable resources which can be used to support the Mission of the Hospital.
The rapidly changing healthcare financing system in the United States makes your private charitable gift increasingly important as we invest in current technology and strengthen programs.
You can help support St. Margaret's Health - Spring Valley by considering gifts of:
- Cash
- Mandatory distribution from an IRA
- Appreciated Assets
- Bequests
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Real Estate
- Trusts
- Retirement Funds
- Life Insurance
- Gifts in Kind
All gifts to the St. Margaret’s Foundation qualify as tax-deductible charitable contributions under current tax law. Some of these charitable gift instruments can be used to reduce your current tax obligation, avoid or reduce estate tax, and even increase your present cash flow.
Your gift will make it possible for St. Margaret’s to invest in the latest life-saving technologies. Unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation to respond to the current and ever changing investment needs of the hospital. Some donors need to better understand the impact of their gift and participate in how their donation is used. Is there medical history in your family that is especially important to you? Your gift might be directed to a specific project related to that condition. For example, a family with a history of Gastric Reflux Disease may be interested in supporting the Esophageal and Colon Cancer Center project. Someone who had required the services of the SMH Cardiac Rehab Unit may want to show their appreciation by contributing funds to be used for equipment or technology in that area.
Memorials and Honorariums can be a meaningful way to remember or recognize a special person in your life. Many St. Margaret’s supporters use memorials as a way to show their condolences at the passing of a friend or family member and direct their charitable giving to the Hospital. Memorial packets are available from Foundation Staff to assist in both communicating the gift to the family of the person being remembered and the Foundation. Please talk to Foundation staff about larger memorials or honorariums.
The St. Margaret’s Foundation hopes to recognize gifts in a sincerely thankful and respectful manner. One part of that stewardship is our Wall of Honor on the first floor near the elevators. A donor’s cumulative giving is reflected by a tile of corresponding size and position on the Wall.
Gift Levels are:
- Good Samaritans | $1,000 to $4,999
- Caring Ambassadors | $5,000 to $9,999
- Giving Humanitarians | $10,000 to $24,999
- Compassionate Leaders | $25,000 to $49,999
- Generous Visionaries | $50,000 to $99,999
- Guardian Angels | $100,000 to $499,000
- Gracious Crusaders | $500,000 to $999,999
- Benevolent Champions | $1,000,000 and above
Other recognition may be appropriate depending on gift restrictions and can be discussed with Foundation Staff. If you choose, your contributions to the St Margaret’s Foundation can remain anonymous.
The IVCH Foundation
St. Margaret's Health - Peru
The IVCH Foundation’s goal is to raise funds where they’re needed most. This hospital has been providing quality healthcare to our community since 1914. Our dedicated physicians and healthcare workers are proud to have served the people of the Illinois Valley for over 100 years. We strive to offer the latest technology and diagnostic capabilities as well as the most highly trained staff.
If you are a regular donor to IVCH or have designated funds from an estate to go to IVCH, your donation will still reside in the IVCH Foundation and be used for the original intent of the donor.
Your gifts create a lasting impact for the community by helping to continually improve our hospital and clinics, as well as provide our dedicated physicians and nurses with progressive technology and equipment needed to continually deliver extraordinary care.
