St. Margaret’s Health –Spring Valley was the recipient of a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant to support expanding behavioral health services to our area. This grant will provide $2 Million dollars each year for two years to establish a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, The St. Margaret’s Center for Holistic Health & Wellness (CHHW), which will be located in the adjacent space in the Center for Family Health (CFH) in Princeton. The Center will work primarily with residents of LaSalle, Bureau, Putnam and Marshall Counties. A new Program Director for CHHW has been hired.  Mike Miroux, LCPC, has recently joined the St. Margaret’s staff. Construction will begin soon at the site in Princeton. Mike returns to his hometown area, and is excited about this opportunity.  He stated, “I think the Center for Holistic Health and Wellness will be looked at as a leader and model for providing innovate and

Tune in during Mother’s Day weekend to the all-new Veteran radio program, “Inside the Wire,” and listen to radio show hosts, Jerry Bacidore and Chris Mueller, interview a fellow Veteran and one of our very own, Kelly DeBoer, MD, from St. Margaret’s Oglesby Medical Clinic. The show will focus on local Veterans that have served our Nation while maintaining the toughest job on earth – being a mother! The new Veteran radio program on WRWO 94.5FM is a weekly, hour-long radio show on a not-for-profit community radio station out of Ottawa. Keeping You Updated: Today, the City of Peru has begun construction on West Street that will affect St. Margaret’s Health – Peru’s hospital campus traffic flow and entry points. Work is being done about midway up the block between 5th Street and 6th Street. The current closure of West Street is setup from just north of the St. Margaret’s Health – Peru parking garage to just south of the intersection of 7th Street and 6th Street. The parking garage will remain open through most of the construction.  Routes to use to get to St. Margaret’s Health-Peru: Work will continue to be done north on West Street for the duration of the project. Ambulances or motor vehicles coming to the hospital from the north should use 11th Street and proceed around Washington Park to get to either Rock Street or Plum Street. Those coming from the south will travel northbound on
