“We are extremely pleased that, after a two-year process, we have finalized the agreement to form one entity that will serve the healthcare needs of the Illinois Valley. We want to welcome our new colleagues from St. Margaret’s Health-Peru to the SMP Health System. We look forward to working together to create a vibrant healthcare network and enhance the care our patients have come to expect from us,” said Aaron Alton, President/CEO of SMP Health System.
“In coming together, we support a shared vision for the efficient delivery of high quality healthcare in the region. Our affiliation presents an exciting opportunity to enhance the services we provide, while also strengthening the financial health of the organization,” said Tim Muntz, President/CEO of St. Margaret’s Health. “A thorough assessment is currently underway to streamline operations and explore new services our communities may need. We expect this process to be completed within two years.”
