Responsible for putting patients in exam rooms and obtaining vitals, a history, and have the room set up for the physician. Schedules appointments, tests ordered by the physician and pre-certify procedures with the patient’s insurance company. The Medical Assistant-Scribe will work closely with the RN or LPN in answering telephones, checking messages, cleaning up exam rooms, draw blood for laboratory tests. Responsible for assisting with making reminder phone calls to patients and running the “Unverified Encounters List” at the end of the shift; completing all unverified encounters. Prepares the EMR chart by searching for and opening each appropriate area of the chart for the physician to review prior to the patient encounter. In real time during the patient visit, opens the appropriate EMR templates and transcribe the physician’s medical dictations of the patient clinic visit. In addition, responsible for transcribing the physician’s problem list and diagnosis into the EMR; enter medication order and diagnostic orders based on physician’s recommendations in the EMR for physician to review and sign. Transcribes physicians exam and finding in the EMR for physicians to review and sign. At the physician request, documents all appropriate information for appropriate referral in the EMR. Reviews and corrects overdue orders and tasks with the appropriate staff.
High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant required or eligible for licensure.
Requires medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT, Medicare regulations, and insurance billing guidelines are helpful. Requires typing and computer skills. Medical necessity and insurance eligibility is helpful. Good interpersonal skills a must. Phlebotomy experience preferred. You must be familiar with medical necessity and checking E-Care for insurance eligibility.

Compacts trash, maintains a clean environment by the compactor, and notifies supervisor when outside waste containers need to be emptied. Maintains all trash collection carts and holding area. Breaks down all corrugated cardboard. Performs floor maintenance duties including carpet spot cleaning. Removes/replaces cubicle and shower curtain, cleans windows and light fixtures, and washes wall surfaces. Assist with room set-ups, patient room cleaning and cleans spills and water leaks.
High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have good reading and writing skills. Previous custodial experience in a health care facility would be beneficial. Custodial Certification is optional.
Mops floors, corridors, and stairwells. Strips old floor finish and applies new floor finish as needed. Burnish floors, wet extracts floor mats and carpets. Cleans equipment and checks/refills water level in battery-operated equipment. Cleans used floor pads. Assists with room set-ups, soiled linen and waste collection and patient room cleaning as assigned. Assists with spill clean-ups and relocation of furniture.
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must have good reading and writing skills. Previous floor care experience in a health care facility would be beneficial. Floor maintenance certification optional.
Responsible for delivery and set-up of equipment (oxygen tanks, respiratory care devices, beds, wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.) from the DME department to patient/client homes.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Manufacturer’s certification for repairing DME equipment preferred, 3-5 years of experience performing durable equipment repairs preferred, extensive experience operating DME equipment preferred, ability to lift at least 75 pounds, clean driving record.
To provide optimum office support to Rehab staff. Duties include, but are not limited to answering phones, scheduling and bookkeeping. Checking in patients, insurance and Medicare recertification and preauthorization. Worker’s Compensation precertification and preaapproval. Entering daily charges and discharges. Track daily charges for billing purposes. Registration of new patients. Calling and scheduling physician referrals on a daily basis. Setting up Para-transit schedule. Monthly list of therapists Medicare patients. Faxing daily progress and doctor notes for physician signatures to be returned. Filing and charting. Submission of Medicaid information to IPA. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced office environment.
